In September 1983, Bronski Beat, as the representatives of the „Out And Proud” generation, played their historic gig at the legendary Heaven Club of London’s gay scene. And this gig went down in history.
Now – exactly 35 years later – their groundbreaking debut album „The Age Of Consent” from 1984 is released remastered and with additional, partly unreleased bonus tracks from the archives of London Records.
In addition, the reissue includes remixes by Wax Wings, Arnoud Rebotini (composer of the film score for ‘120 BPM’) and British house producer KDA aka Kris Di Angelis. Bronski Beat aka Jimmy Somerville, Steve Bronski and the late Larry Steinbachek are considered the new role models and pioneers of pop and British Pride culture. Their debut single „Smalltown Boy” was a worldwide hit that resonates with today’s LGBT+ generation and is a fixture on dance floors around the world.
