In 1972, Bryan Ferry practically appeared out of nowhere with Roxy Music, demonstrating his many talents as a composer, singer and visual artist. The innovative music was also expressed in the artwork, costumes and elaborate stage shows. He was the creative force behind the band that redefined the rules of pop. He set the standard of the „cool frontman,” and without him the music world would not be what it is today.

Soon, Ferry also emerged as a brilliant solo artist and style icon. For Ferry, style was always more than fashion. Like Sinatra or Serge Gainsbourg, he radiated an unforgettable elegance, and was very quickly considered a trend-setter. He combined the mystery of great art with fascinating music. 36 years later, he still receives recognition for his vocal artistry and qualities as a songwriter. In this decade he was nominated for the Grammy, won over a dozen international awards, toured the world four times, and released three sensational albums.

The decade is enriched by another highlight: The „Best Of” captures the fascination of the dazzling gentleman of glam rock in an impressive way. Besides 19 singles, two bonus tracks are integrated: an alternative piano version of the song „A Fool For Love”, which originally appeared on the „Frantic” album, and the Drifters / Dusty Springfield classic „I Don’t Want To Go On Without You”, which was re-recorded especially for this collection.
