“London’s greatest funk band” Rolling Stone
Formed over 40 years ago by Steve Scipio and Patrick Patterson, the band was made up of nine self-taught Caribbean born, London based musician/singers. They developed a wonderful deep blend of funk, soul, calypso, jazz and African music and recorded three legendary albums during the ’70’s.
Their songs and grooves will no doubt be very familiar to diggers and sample spotters; having been utilised by the likes of De La Soul, The Fugees, MF DOOM, The KLF and close to a hundred others.
The band are currently working on new music to be released later in 2024.
