The original album was recorded at De Lane Lea Studios, London in August and October 1968 and it was remastered at Abbey Road Studios, London in 2000.

As one of the earliest examples of progressive rock, The Book of Taliesyn is an important work. It’s not a masterpiece, but as with Curved Air’s second album, the demands of writing more material quickly seem to have spurred them on to higher heights.

The mix of psychedelic, bluesy rock mixed with forays into classic keyboard segments shows that there are some really exciting ideas lurking in the middle of the album, and there are even moments when the driving guitar and riffs sound like they’re about to break into classics like „Highway Star.”
