“Rock Of The Westies” is Elton John’s tenth studio album. It was originally released on October 24, 1975.
In the U.S., the record went straight to number one in the charts. In John’s native Great Britain, however, it only reached number five.
However, the single “Island Girl” made it to the top there. The second single to be released was “Grow Some Funk of Your Own / I Feel Like a Bullet (In the Gun of Robert Ford)”.
For the vinyl reissue, the album was remastered in 2017 from the original analog tapes by Bob Ludwig (Gateway Mastering) and cut by Sean Magee at Abbey Road Studios.
