They defined the Madchester scene and personified rave culture. Including Wrote For Luck and Lazyitis – One Armed Boxer Like many an influential album in rock history, few listeners were aware of the cultural significance of Happy Monday Bummed when it was first released on November 5, 1988.

Within a decade or two, Bummed was hailed as one of the best records of the ’80s, often by the same publications that had trashed it at the time – a harbinger of the seismic shift that was underway in British pop music, away from the squeaky-clean, corporate-mandated pop radio fodder that had increasingly dominated the charts since punk, and back toward the more aggressive, unruly, and experience-hungry urges that had always pulsed through rock n roll.

With lovely artwork created by the designers at Manchester’s Central Station Design, this album appears on vinyl for the first time since its original release.
