The album showcases Kravitz’s talents as a writer, producer and multi-instrumentalist. As usual, he has written and recorded all the songs himself, sometimes with the support of his long-time companion, guitarist Craig Ross.
The pre-released singles prove just how well this collaboration works on „Blue Electric Light„: „Paralyzed” is a first-class mid-tempo rocker with plenty of groove. While „Human” and „TK421” live out Kravitz’s preference for synth funk and are reminiscent of Prince.
