In 1989, brothers Fred and Richard Fairbrass founded Right Said Fred, which became famous in 1991 with the release of their debut single ‘I’m Too Sexy’. ‘I’m Too Sexy’ reached #1992 on the Billboard US in February 1, making them the first British band since the Beatles to have a debut single at number one in the US.
The brothers won two Ivor Novello Awards and a BMI Award for their hits I’m Too Sexy (1991) and Deeply Dippy (1992). They’ve released nine albums, performed with big names around the world, been nominated for a Brit Award, performed for the Queen and released a song for Comic Relief. Their success is worldwide and has attracted fans in the UK, Europe, USA and beyond, all starting in a basement studio in Acton, London.
