Roy Orbison was an American country and rock singer who began his career in 1956 with the legendary Sun label, which also included Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash. His voice and special way of composing ensured a legendary status of ‘the big O’. With hits like „Only The Lonely”, „Crying”, „Blue Bayou”, „It’s Over”, „In Dreams” and „Oh, Pretty Woman”, all of which are on this 180 gram LP, he conquered the whole world. After many setbacks on a personal level, his career fell into a trough, but in the 1980s he made a remarkable comeback through, among others, Farm Aid and the supergroup Traveling Wilburys, which also included Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Jeff Lynne and Tom Petty. Unfortunately, he died unexpectedly in 1988, so he was no longer allowed to experience the enormous success of his last album with the hits „You Got It” and „She’s A Mystery To Me”. The 1990 movie “Pretty Woman”, inspired by his old hit, only further cemented his legendary status.
