“Our Happy Hardcore” back on vinyl

Record lovers among Scooter fans can look forward to a couple of special vinyl reissues in 2021. Included is the second longplayer of the dance icons: “Our Happy Hardcore“. It was originally released on March 28, 1996, on CD, vinyl, MC and VHS. The vinyl, however, was no longer available for a long time.

“Our Happy Hardcore” is the successor of the debut album “… and the Beat Goes On!”, which was released only one year earlier, in 1995.

It was recorded at Loop D. C. Studios 1 and 2 in Hamburg. In addition to the three band members H. P. Baxxter, Rick J. Jordan and Ferris Bueller, Jens Thele also took care of the production of the album

Ten songs eventually made it onto the record, including the singles “Back In The U. K.,” “Let Me Be Your Valentine” and a dance cover of the 1984 Billy Idol hit “Rebel Yell,” reaching number four, fourteen and eight in the German charts. The album landed at number seventeen in Germany and as high as number nine in Switzerland. Other highlights on “Our Happy Hardcore” are the songs “Stuttgart,” a Scooter-unusual instrumental without the Baxxter chant, and “Last Minute,” inspired by the Hebrew folk song “Hava Nagila.”
