Three years after their debut, Scorpion Child 2016 will release their second studio album „Acid Roulette”.
But since their first longplayer a lot has happened in Scorpion Child: Bassist Shaun Diettrick Avants was replaced by Alec „Mexecutioner” Padron. Drummer Shawn Alvear also left the band. For him came Jon „Charn” Rice. Last but not least keyboardist Aaron John „AJ” Vincent joined the band last year. Singer Aryn Jonathan Black and guitarist Christopher Jay Cowart are still in the band.
The band from Austin (Texas) has remained largely true to their sound on the new album. Classicrock meets hard rock, brute guitar riffs meet the siren-like voice of singer Aryn. The guys sound even more energetic.
Furthermore, „Acid Roulette” is a concept album. The band tells the story of a man who was sentenced to life imprisonment for murder. His wife and her lover forced him to confess in order to continue their romance. In the 13 songs of „Acid Roulette” the thoughts and emotions of the man are revealed. So also in the first two single releases „Moon Tension” and „My Woman In Black”.
Scorpion Child produced their new album together with Chris „Frenchie” Smith at The Bubble Studio in Austin Texas. He was already responsible for the production of their first album.
