Simply Funk and Soul

We’ve missed them: after a four-year release break, Simply Red are finally coming out of the studio with a new album in 2019.

„Blue Eyed Soul” is the name of the successor to „Big Love” from 2015, the twelfth album by the Brits.

Mick Hucknall wrote ten songs for it, a versatile collection between funk, soul and pop, rousing songs and soulful ballads.

The band recorded „Blue Eyed Soul” more or less live in Mark Knopfler’s British Grove Studios in London. Only a few recordings were added afterwards. Andy Wright took care of the production of the album.
