Remastered and newly mixed by band members Dan Lacksman and Michel Moers, Telex releases Looking For Saint-Tropez.
The three young Belgians Marc Moulin, Dans Lackman and Michel Moers created a new kind of music by starting to implement small smart soundscapes on synth in 1979. The legendary band Telex was born.
Their debut album „Looking For Saint-Tropez” is an album of pop history that made international news because it approached the time in an amusing way. The band mixed the aesthetics of disco, punk and experimental electronic music and released a minimalist cover version of „Twist À St. Tropez” by Les Chats Sauvages.
This was followed by an extremely slow version of „Rock Around The Clock,” an almost over-excited version of Plastic Bertrand’s song „Ca Plane Pour Moi,” and a mech anic version of „Dance To The Music” by Sly Stone. The worldwide hit „Moskow Diskow” marked the breakthrough for the band.
