“Music for precious, quiet moments” – that’s what Andreas Vollenweider’s website says.
And indeed: on his new album “Quiet Places” the Swiss musician, composer, producer and arranger presents a selection of ten wonderfully quiet Pieces: personal songs between jazz and neo-classical, fine improvisations that nevertheless embody an incredible power.
Vollenweider, who can be heard sometimes on the harp, sometimes on the piano, is supported by the young cellist Isabel Gehweiler and the drummer Walter Keiser.
“Quiet Places” is the musician’s first new album in eleven years. He found the inspiration for it in his first self-penned novel “Im Spiegel der Venus”.
