When Eric Clapton swapped his usual Stratocaster for an acoustic Martin in January 1992 to record the now legendary Unplugged album, he was already considered an absolute master of the electric guitar.

The live album featured the legendary guitarist accompanied by a small backing band playing acoustic versions of his own songs and some blues standards. After being released the same year, the album became an undisputed blockbuster, selling 19 million copies worldwide and winning six Grammys, including “Record of the Year” and “Song of the Year.”
