Just 15 months after Gregory Porter released his debut album, „Water,” he has become one of the world’s most successful male jazz singers. In addition to a Grammy nomination in the category „Best Jazz Vocal Album”, praise from artists like Jamie Cullum, Nicola Conte or Klaus Doldinger and a first place in the „Album of the Year” list of the influential British magazine Jazzwise, Gregory Porter can also look back on acclaimed concerts at the most important jazz festivals in Europe at the most important jazz festivals in Europe. A terrific performance on the British late-night show „Later With Jools Holland” even catapulted his debut album to #1 on the iTunes Jazz Charts.

„Be Good” is the second album by the exceptional singer, on which Porter is accompanied by Chip Crawford (piano), Aaron James (bass), Emanuel Harrold (drums) and Yosuke Sato (saxophone).
Porter manages to not only meet, but exceed the high expectations placed on his new album with a combination of outstanding songwriting, great lyrics and his unique baritone voice. „Be Good” features energetic tracks bursting with power like „Work Song,” sensitive ballads like the first single „Be Good (Lion’s Song),” and soulful tracks like „On My Way To Harlem.” Porter’s new work was produced by Brian Bacchus, and the horn arrangements were penned by Kamau Kenyatta, who can also be heard on the track „Painted on Canvas.”
