Dead Can Dance members Lisa Gerrard and Jules Maxwell have teamed up with James Chapman (MAPS) to record a new studio album titled ‘Burn‘. The genesis of the album began more than seven years ago when Lisa met with Irish theater composer Jules Maxwell in advance of their first collaboration. ‘Burn‘ is released on Atlantic Curve.

Even though this album is a new release, its roots go back to 2012, to Dead Can Dance’s world tour at the time, to be exact. Jules Maxwell, who actually joined as keyboardist for the tour, co-wrote a new song with Lisa Gerrard. ‘Rising Of The Moon’ was played as the final encore at every show.

When the tour finally came to an end in Chile in 2013, a strong bond had developed between the two and in the following years opportunities for collaboration arose again and again. Stylistically, the new album ‘Burn‘ is a multi-layered mixture of electronica, alternative, wide soundscapes and world music with slight echoes of early Vangelis.
