After „The Piper at the Gates of Dawn,” „A Saucerful of Secrets” was Pink Floyd’s second album. During the recordings in 1967/1968 at Abbey Road Studios, Syd Barrett’s mental problems increased more and more, even two of his songs were not included in the album in the end.

The band was looking for a second guitarist: at first Jeff Beck was under discussion, but he proved to be too expensive. The choice finally fell on David Gilmour, a friend of the band. The last recordings of the album were played by Gilmour alone. The final separation from Syd Barrett then took place in April 1968.

This is what the vinyl lovers among Pink Floyd fans have been eagerly waiting for. The rock legends are gradually re-releasing all their albums as LPs. June 2016 sees the start of the band’s first four records, including „A Saucerful Of Secrets„.
