2017 new album from the Grammy-winning singer and songwriter.

Featuring “What About us” written with Johnny McDaid (Snow Patrol) and Steve Mac.

Grammy-winning pop songstress Pink’s seventh album Beautiful Trauma leads off with “What About Us,” an aching ballad with a soaring chorus that shows off the singer’s powerful range. The single was written by Pink with Johnny McDaid of Snow Patrol and Steve Mac, and produced by Mac.

This is Pink’s (Alecia Beth Moore) first album in more than five years. She co-wrote all 13 songs on the album — along with McDaid and Mac, collaborators include some of today’s biggest hitmakers: Max Martin, Shellback, Jack Antonoff, Julia Michaels and Greg Kurstin, among others.

The singer, songwriter, dancer and actress has released a handful of singles and collaborations (including an appearance on Kenny Chesney’s “Setting The World on Fire,” which was nominated for a 2017 Best Country Duo/Group Grammy), but she’s largely kept a low profile since she came off cycle for 2012’s double-platinum The Truth About Love. She and husband Carey Hart welcomed their second child, son Jameson Moon, in December 2016.

At face value, the lyrics to “What About Us” read from the perspective of someone in a turbulent relationship, but they can be just as easily interpreted as a plea for guidance in this confusing political climate. The song soared onto Billboard’s Adult Pop Songs radio airplay chart at No. 18, marking the highest debut of Pink’s 22 career entries on the list and the highest debut by any song on the chart since Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off” set a record No. 9 on Sept. 6, 2014.
