Radiohead will celebrate the 20th anniversary of their albums „Kid A” (2000) and „Amnesiac” (2001) in 2021 with a special reissue: „Kid A Mnesia” is the name of the new triple album, which combines the two longplayers and a few rarities on three CDs and three LPs, respectively.

„We humbly present to you ‘Kid A Mnesia‘. ‘Kid A‘ & ‘Amnesiac‘ come of age, and with it comes a new album, ‘Kid Amnesiae,’ a memory palace of half-remembered, half-forgotten sessions and unreleased material,” the band said via Twitter.

„Kid A” is the fourth studio album by the English rock band. It was originally released on October 2, 2000. After the acclaimed 1997 predecessor „OK Computer,” Thom Yorke wanted to explore a bit of new musical territory, away from guitar rock. Radiohead drew influence from electronic music, ambient music, krautrock, jazz and 20th century classical music, using instruments such as modular synthesizers, brass and strings. „Kid A” became a huge success. It landed at number one in the UK and the US, and won a Grammy in the „Best Alternative Music Album” category.

Not even a year later, on June 5, 2001, the fifth Radiohead album „Amnesiac” was released. The songs of the record were created in the same sessions as those of the predecessor and thus show similar musical influences. Radiohead divided all the pieces on the two different albums. „Amnesiac” also reached number one in Great Britain, number two in the US charts.

„Kid A Mnesia” gathers both albums. As an extra to the collection there is a new compilation called „Kid Amnesiae„. This contains archive material taken from the sessions. In addition to alternative versions and elements of album tracks and B-sides, „Kid Amnesiae” features the never-before-heard song „If You Say The Word” and a previously unreleased studio recording of „Follow Me Around”.
