Released in March 1967, ‘The Velvet Underground & Nico‘ also referred to as “The Banana Album” designed by Andy Warhol – also producer of the record – is back on vinyl with the original peelable banana cover, gatefold jacket and back cover photo.

Perhaps one of the most influential albums of all time. Punk, new wave, goth – you name it; most any alternative rock genre owes its birth to this record and this group. This record is a diverse collection of garage rock, pop, stripped-down R&B and love songs.

Lou Reed takes the listener on a ride through tales of drugs and sexual exploration. What’s more, the album’s cover art, by Andy Warhol (who also is credited as Producer), remains among the most recognizable ever. After its debut, this record still hasn’t lost its power.
