“Stella” is the fourth album by the Swiss electronic band Yello from the year 1985. With this album the band celebrated its international International breakthrough, which is largely due to the song “Oh Yeah” Due in large part to the song “Oh Yeah,” which was featured in the classic In the classic youth film “Ferris macht blau” and two years later in the in “The Secret of My Success”. During the recording Boris Blank and Dieter Meier moved a bit away from the experimental sounds towards the commercial synth pop and the cinematic cinematic soundtrack.

Recorded in the band’s own Yello studio on the shores of Lake Zurich, the duo used classic classic electronic equipment: a Yamaha DX7 and JX- 3P, a Fairlight CMI Series II sampler together with an ARP Odyssey synthesizer, the Linn LM-1 and Oberheim DMX drum machine, a Roland VP-330 Vocoder Plus and more.

“Stella” originally spawned two singles. “Vicious Games” was accompanied by a video that was recorded at the Red Factory. The second single “Desire” was accompanied by a video that was shot in Havana to pick up the Latin sound of the track. After the success of “Oh Yeah” in the movies, the song was also released as a single in 1987 Song was also released as a single in 1987.
