The human voices heard on this album were created from recordings of speech and song. The original recordings were made in the following languages: aboriginal, afghan, arabic, balinese, buhndi, chad, chinese, english, french, gabonese, german, hungarian, indian, japanese, madagascan, malayan, pigmy, quechua, russian, sioux, spanish, swedish, tibetan, turkish.
They were edited and transformed using different electronic devices.

Zoolook is a study of sampling and perhaps Jarre’s most experimental album to date. It was created in collaboration with musicians such as Laurie Anderson. Constructed from disparate sampled fragments of songs and speech in more than 30 different languages, Zoolook moves between avant-garde, electro and funk.

The album is Jarre’s seventh and employed musicians such as Laurie Anderson, Adrian Belew and Marcus Miller.
