Atom Heart Mother is the fifth studio album by Pink Floyd. It was released on October 2, 1970 in the United Kingdom by Harvest and on October 10, 1970 in the United States by Capitol Records. It was recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London, England. This was the first album by Pink Floyd to reach #1 in the UK charts.

This album was commercially successful upon its release, but the band members, especially Roger Waters and David Gilmour, had several negative opinions about it.

The cover was designed by Hipgnosis and was the first album of Pink Floyd’s that neither showed the band’s name on the cover, not contained photos of the band anywhere.
